What is hard water?

Hard water is water that contains high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium, as well as other elements like chlorine and sediments, which can all impact your skin and hair health.

How does hard water impact my skin?

The minerals and chlorine in hard water strip away your skin’s natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. Over time, this can weaken your skin’s barrier, making it more sensitive and prone to irritation.

How does hard water impact my hair?

Hard water minerals like calcium & magnesium penetrate the hair & crystallize as it dries, this causes crispy feeling hair prone to breakage.

Hard water hampers the lathering and cleaning capabilities of your shampoo and soap, leading to chemical buildup which eventually causes hairfall. You end up using excessive shampoo to achieve the same level of cleanliness and also expose your skin to increased chemical residues.

Can hard water and chlorine cause acne/pimples?

Hard water and chlorine can react with your skin’s natural oils, turning them into a wax-like texture that blocks your pores, leading to irritation and breakouts, especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin.

How do I know if I have hard water?

Signs of hard water include dry, flaky skin, dull or lifeless hair, and mineral deposits on your shower head or faucets. You can also check your local water report for hardness levels.

Does chlorine in water make skin conditions like eczema worse?

Chlorine can aggravate conditions like eczema by further drying out the skin and breaking down its protective barrier, triggering flare-ups and increased irritation.

How does the filter help with hard water?

Our filter works on the hardness conditioning technology, which works by altering the chemical structure of the hardness ions to deactivate the properties of hardness causing salts i.e. calcium and magnesium, because these salts have tendency to stick on your hair and skin, thus creating chemical buildup. When it sticks to the hair and skin, you might have hairfall issues and skin irritation, so when the water passes through the water, it loses the property of creating buildup.

Will the TDS change?

No, shower and tap filters are not designed to reduce TDS.

Instead of eliminating the hard water salts from the water, it deactivates the properties of sticking so that is why TDS and hardness level will be the same.

Will there be a change in the water pressure?

Normally, the filtration does take some seconds due to which there is a slight reduction in flow rate.

If the hardness is particularly high in some area, then the filtration takes some more seconds which might reduce flow rate.

How long does the filter work?

The cartridge inside works for 3-6 months depending on water quality. Post that, you will replace the cartridge only (not the entire unit).

In case the water quality is extremely bad, we recommend replacing the cartridge more frequently for best results.
